My book agent Celeste Fine recently asked me, “What is one of the biggest things women do wrong for their health that they think they’re doing right?” And I told her that it was the idea that if we eat less we’re going to lose weight.

This topic seems especially apropos for this time of year: it’s January and lots of women are trying to stick to resolutions and failing, or trying to diet after the holidays. In my new book, The Adrenal Thyroid Revolution, I talk about these how calorie restriction, low carb diets, and other restrictive eating patterns can sometimes do more harm than good when it comes to your health and weight

  1. I started the Bone Broth diet January 1st. This podcast could not have come at a better time for me since up until 2 days ago, I had followed the diet to a T. Yes, I lost about 6 lbs and 2 inches, but the day my body hit survival mode, my cravings and hunger went wild on me. Two glasses of wine, an entire pizza, waffle with syrup… the next day and today have not been much better and so the beating myself up for not being able to get my gut, health and hormones under control officially ensued. Begging the universe for help to take the learner path instead of the judger path, I thought of you and wondered if you had a podcast on falling off the wagon. Since the Bone Broth diet has mini fast days built into it, your ideas around not skipping meals drew me in. THANK YOU! I ordered your book awhile back as recommended by my doctor when I went to her with questions about balancing my thyroid instead of just popping my levothyroxine everyday. Looking forward to getting it. I was hoping this podcasts notes would be more detailed so i wouldn’t have to go back and listen again in order to take notes. I am a huge fan and cannot get enough of what you have to say. It is the information I have been praying to find.
