I see it all the time—we’re so hard on ourselves. I see it all the time—we’re so hard on ourselves. Beating ourselves up for not feeling better. Loathing our bodies for not looking or functioning as we think they should. Restricting food, overexercising to exhaustion, overthinking every decision, symptom, meal.⁠
⁠
We’ve been taught to hustle for worth, control our way to health, and believe we must fix ourselves to feel okay.⁠
⁠
But here’s what I’ve learned in 40+ years as a midwife, MD, and on my healing path: Healing doesn’t come from shaming, blaming, or judging ourselves. It comes from kindness, curiosity, and compassion. It comes from treating our bodies like good friends—not enemies we’re trying to subdue!⁠
⁠
🌿 Our nervous systems need rest, not constant stress.⁠
🌿 Our guts need variety, not deprivation.⁠
🌿 Our hormones need nourishment, not control.⁠
🌿 Our metabolism needs support, not obsession.⁠
⁠
What if, instead of beating ourselves up, we asked our bodies what they need? What if we replaced control with care? Our bodies don’t need punishment—they need partnership.⁠
⁠
Healing isn’t about doing more or being perfect. It’s about showing grace, choosing love over fear, and finding small ways to support our bodies daily with kindness.⁠

This is your permission slip to stop fighting yourself. Healing isn’t passive—it’s actively creating a sustainable path to lifelong health. Whether through food, herbs, movement, or stress management, every step matters. Your body is resilient, and healing is possible.⁠
