Functional and Integrative Medicine for Women & Children
At Thrive Health, located in the heart of Manhattan, our belief is that your body is more capable of healing than you’ve ever been led to believe; you just need the right solutions and tools. We believe that you can actually have confidence in your body and health again. Our goal is to take the guess work out of your health care solutions so you can have health and peace of mind.
At Thrive Health Center our mission is to help you feel your best so you can live your best. We do this in an atmosphere that nurtures, supports, and provides individualized and focused attention to your health needs, and combines the best of tradition medicine with modern science. We believe in creating a non-judgmental, compassionate environment in which healing can happen; we also respect your time and energy, so strive to make your experience as smooth and easy as possible. We also believe that for healers to do their best work, they have to be healthy people, walking their talk, so part of our mission is to remain in balance in our own lives and health, so we can be the best for ourselves, our world, and our patients.
Having the best information and tools is great, but if your plan is overwhelming, requires taking too many supplements, or is impractical for your lifestyle, it’s not much use at all. As a busy mom of 4 kids, I get it! So my practice works with you to create achievable goals, plans, and solutions so that you can succeed without feeling overwhelmed in the process!
Our intention is to help lead you to a place in yourself where you are “lit” up, excited about the unlimited potential that lies within you. With caring wisdom and commitment to your process, it will be our privilege to guide you with compassion, on your healing journey.

Becoming a Patient
Becoming a new patient at Thrive is easy, however, it’s important to read the fees and policies carefully before you submit the application to make sure the practice is a good fit for you. Dr. Romm only accepts a limited number of new patients in the practice each month, and these slots fill up quickly. It is not uncommon for there to be a 4-6 month wait for a new patient appointment with her.
Once your online request is received, you will receive instructions by email for scheduling an appointment, payment, a new patient intake questionnaire, and some forms to return.
I will need to see you physically, on site, for at least your initial appointment. Initial appointments can now be scheduled for my New York location. Follow up appointments can then usually be done by phone, but please read the policies.
How Appointments Work
At your first visit, which is 80 minutes, we will discuss your symptoms, health concerns, medical, family, and personal history, your nutrition and diet, exercise and sleep habits, as well as any other information that will help me to understand the factors contributing to your health concerns. We will also review any previous lab testing or medical records from your primary or specialty physicians, so bring these with you if you have them. You will also have a physical exam as well as ample time to ask any questions.
At the end of the visit, I will recommend any relevant lab tests and suggest an initial health plan that will begin to move you to your health goals. After your initial appointment with me, you will also have a brief initial review of your plan with Amanda Swan, Thrive’s Nurse Practitioner and Health Coach. who will help you to incorporate any changes as easily as possible., and then a 1-hour appointment with Thrive’s Nutritionist Holly Niles, who will further help you to individualize your nutrition plan,
By your second appointment, which is typically 4-6 weeks after the first, we will review the results of any laboratory testing as well as how things have improved since the initial appointment, at which time I will further personalize treatment program. After the second visit, you can expect to follow up in one month to review your progress on the program. This and future visits are usually 25-50 minutes long, based on your needs and the complexity of your conditions.
At Thrive you are not paying a premium on lab tests or supplements, which can save you literally thousands of dollars in office and monthly costs. In fact, with Thrive Health you will receive:
- All lab testing at direct labs costs – not the typical expensive functional medicine lab prices you’ll find in many practices
- 20% off of all retail prices on any supplements in my patient supplement store
- Access to menu planning, recipes, and a private Facebook group for patients only.
We now offer a new patient “package” for highly motivated patients that allows you to schedule not only your initial appointment, but also priority booking for your first three follow up appointments.
